We are raising money to help Friends of the Cancer Centre fund vital nursing hours, which supports thousands of local people every year. We will donate £10 for every car sold and £2 for every service, as well as encouraging employees and customers to take part in the charity’s fundraising events.
Managing Director John Mulholland sadly passed away in August 2019 after being diagnosed with kidney cancer in June the previous year. John benefited from Friends of the Cancer Centre’s work first hand, particularly through the support of his clinical nurse specialist, who is funded by the charity.
Commenting in January 2019 on what motivated him to support Friends of the Cancer Centre, John said:
Local charity Friends of the Cancer Centre works to enhance the quality of patient care and support through its life-changing and life-saving work which includes funding additional nurses, supporting local research and providing practical support, such as financial grants, which can help alleviate some of the stresses which can come with diagnosis and treatment. Friends of the Cancer Centre relies entirely on the generosity of the local community and all money donated stays in Northern Ireland, directly benefiting patients and their families.
Welcoming the partnership, Colleen Shaw, chief executive of Friends of the Cancer Centre said:
